Dogwood Sentries

I love using images from different photos when I am creating in the studio. This is a combination of scenes which started out without the dogwoods between the rocks and the pasture. I love it when I have something that does not work and then it requires me to make a good composition. I get to draw from my memories of places I have been.

I have painted these dogwood trees many different times and in different ways. Dogwoods are multi-trunk smaller trees and I love painting them. The “negative spaces” between them make beautiful shapes.

The rocks and river are from a different location! That is fun and can also be a job to make it look like a "real" place. And, I know you have probably seen this type of scene if you drive our beautiful country.  I hope you see things here you love as well as those dogwoods!
