This painting was done from a photo I took in North Georgia. It could be just about anywhere in the country! There are farm buildings and silos sitting in the most inspiring settings, and they evoke memories of times past. I often wonder who worked these farms, and what happened to the people. The “relics” of farms are being torn down, and I thoroughly enjoy painting them when I find a subject that also includes my love of the landscape. This is the second or third time I have used this reference photo for a painting, but a different approach was used this time. The original photo was almost entirely green. It is always interesting to see what the starting colors do for creating a feeling and atmosphere in the scene. My hope is to intrigue the viewer to feel what I am attempting! This seemed to be a hot summer day!
The studies pricing is for those paintings I produce that are experimental, demonstrations, and some plein air work... and usually the small pieces that just can't work in the gallery setting. Or it could be a wonderful painting that just has not met its rightful owner yet! It becomes a good value and an opportunity to have some original artwork, or to start your collection!
