This painting, "Healing Waters," is 14"x11" and is an original from a photo I took below Atlanta, GA at a wonderful place called Indian Springs. The park is one of the oldest State Parks in the nation with stone buildings that were built by the CCC and it is a popular spot for outdoor recreation. For centuries, Creek Indians collected the spring water for its healing qualities, and during the 1800s, the area was a bustling resort town.
The way water, and rocks in and under the water, looks is something that always intrigues me. It is fascinating the way water reflects the bottom of the creek, the trees and rocks above the water, and the sky! It isn't easy, but it is a lot of fun trying to make it have that same feeling as when seeing it in real life! I enjoyed being able to name this painting for the purported healing properties of the springs located here.
