My Ride to Work

This painting, "My Ride to Work" was inspired by a photograph I took at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit near Conyers, GA. Father Francis was just coming back from somewhere, when I saw him at this door with his red bike, and his brief case in the wire basket. I have looked at this photo sitting on a shelf for over 5 years before I decided it was time for me to do the painting! I think it almost painted itself... I was truly inspired. I have painted plein air (from life, in the open air) at the Monastery several times, and Father Francis did sit outside under a beautiful tree with a Nun for us one of the times!
