Rivers, rocks and trees are a recurring theme in many of my paintings. This was done in the studio from several different reference photos and memories I have from painting plein air (on location). In many ways it reminds me of the Toccoa River near Blue Ridge, GA and many of my memories are from that river. It was a lot of fun to create over almost a year of working on it and changing things after it was allowed to sit a couple of times. There is not a "real" place you can visit except in this painting and in your mind. It may look like somewhere you have been! I think it look like it could be a real place.
