This painting was done during the Quick Paint at the Oil Painters of America Eastern Regional in St. Simons, GA. ... and it won the Third Place Award! Whoo Hoo!! The scene was the second of that morning and a spot I did not want to move my easel and stuff. So, I concentrated on the edge of the marsh that was right in front of me. After painting the darks and lights, putting in some of the grasses, I realized it looked like a sliding place that an alligator might use to enter the water. So, that became the name!
