"Desert Rain" was done on location, a plein air pastel, just outside Las Vegas, Nevada in the Red Rock area. We were painting for the First Plein Air Convention, when a light misty rain started ... and you can see the texture, little rain droplets, it gave to the colors on the pastel board. It conveys the way the light was that day, and is one of my favorite plein air paintings because it always takes me back to standing there and painting in the rain with wonderful artists and friends!
